Like adolescence, we do not enter menopause form one day to the other! It takes between five to 10 years for our bodies to “remodel” so as to get ready for a new and more confident voice –a “Second Spring”.
Menopause has the potential to become a true gift of Nature, especially when we learn to listen to the messages of our hormones which prompt us to redefine the landscape of our emotional and physical health.
During this time together, we will look into:
- Anatomy and physiology of our Body and our Emotions during this cycle in our lives.
- Foods and supplements to support the change and ease hot-surges (also known as hot flashes), sleep imbalances, irregularities in the menstrual bleeding, body weight fluctuations, increased PMS and increased sensitivities to food.
- The pros and cons of Hormone replacement.
- Natural ways to protect your Brain, Heart, Breasts and Bones.
- The surge of Eros during peri and menopause.
The tools that we are going to call upon for our exploration are:
Council Circles: an ancestral practice of listening and speaking from the Heart with full presence to our own voice and to the voices of those who are gathered in the Circle. The interwoven stories of our transition into Menopause will reveal a unique and refined kind of tapestry that has the potential to become both our container and our inspiration to embrace, honor and celebrate the power of our Second Spring.
Chi Gong Movements: I will guide you to experience the revitalizing and grounding qualities of this ancient practice so as you learn to to give yourself daily acupuncture treatments without needles!
Chinese Medicine wisdom: We will dive into the description of the Second Spring from the holistic point of view of Taoist Medicine which understands the nature of our human Body and Spirit based in the observations of our Mother Earth.
Functional medicine approaches: I will provide information about supplements and micro-nutrients that can help us walk a smoother and “cooler” transition into our wise years in life.
