Qi Gong Practice Guidelines

  • First and foremost, it’s important to trust your body. Remember, you don’t need to push yourself to “perform.” Take your time to practice the movements gently, avoiding any strain or pain.
  • You can practice the Little Eight Treasures at any time, but the best times are sunrise and sunset (5 to 7 am and pm). Face the sun: east in the morning and west in the afternoon.
  • Outdoor practice is preferred to indoors, especially if you are surrounded by plants and trees.  If indoor practice is your choice, be sure that the air is fresh and flowing.
    • It’s better to practice on or near the Earth than in a high rise apartment.
    • It is generally best not to practice right before bedtime, especially the first four Treasures.  The seventh and Eight Treasures can be helpful for insomnia (especially so when you practice the long form).

If you have questions about your practice, feel free to contact me or schedule a one-on-one online or in person session.

        Enjoy your Qi Practice!
