Aside from being uncomfortable, a dry nose may set the stage for other problems, such as nosebleeds and infection. In California, the Santa Ana winds may cause mild to severe dryness in the nasal cavities, especially if we don’t drink enough fliuds!
For mild dry nose conditions…
Put a tablespoon of natural sesame oil in a shallow dish or saucer.Warm the oil in a double boiler or use room temperature. Dip your little finger in the oil and insert it into your nostrils at least 3 times/day.
For more severe nasal dryness…
- 1 tablespoon natural sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon calendula infused oil
- 90 drops or 2.5ml of Vitamin E
Mix the sesame and calendula oil in a small dish or wide mouth amber bottle. Add the vit E. Apply as stated in previous recipe. If you happen to have nasal sores, ass 1 drop of Tea Tree essential oil to the mix.
